Booking.com UK Cancellation: Free, Partial and Non-refundable Rates
Seeing Booking.com in the confirmation does not mean every hotel reservation has one shared cancellation deadline. The property’s conditions, the rate you selected and who took payment are the details that decide what the cancellation screen displays.
Read the cancellation terms for your stay
Open the booking confirmation or the Bookings area, locate the stay and read its cancellation conditions before pressing the cancellation button. Booking.com’s terms say some stays are free to cancel before a deadline, others have partial charges, and some are described as non-refundable. The exact cut-off may use the property’s local time, so do not substitute your own expected check-in hour.
Who took payment and who sets the rate
A booking marked pay at property can be different from a prepaid rate administered through an intermediary. Booking.com’s customer-service area provides ways to manage a reservation, contact the accommodation and ask for help with an existing booking; the property may still control key room or rate conditions.

For example, two rooms at the same hotel booked with different rates may have different cancellation amounts even though the travel dates match. Check each reservation number instead of assuming the more flexible room’s terms extend to the cheaper prepaid room.
Save the booking-specific confirmation
Keep the original confirmation, the displayed cancellation amount and the follow-up email. For an accommodation charge you do not recognise, contact the booking support route shown for that reservation rather than publishing account details in public comments.
