Hobbs UK Returns: Standalone Shops, Gifts and Online Postage
Check the retailer on the actual receipt
Hobbs’ UK help explains different return routes for website purchases, standalone shops, department-store concessions and international orders. The main UK return period is 30 days for qualifying purchases, but a shopper should check the policy applying to their exact order rather than assume any Hobbs counter can issue an ecommerce refund. See Hobbs’s UK guidance on check the retailer on the actual receipt for the original policy wording.
Returning a direct order through an eligible shop or portal
Find the original order email and receipt. For an eligible UK website purchase, confirm whether a nearby Hobbs standalone store will accept it or register the return using Hobbs’ online service. A purchase made at a John Lewis concession belongs to that original seller’s till system, not to the direct Hobbs website order history.
A gift exchange is not a refund to the recipient’s card
For gift returns, the UK information describes the option of visiting a qualifying standalone shop for an exchange or gift-card outcome. An original purchaser expecting a refund to their card needs to use the appropriate proof of payment and return route. Hosiery, pierced earrings and other specified items have separate exclusions.
For example, you have a dress ordered online as a present and the recipient wants another size. Check the gift-return option before handing over the buyer’s payment details; a gift card or exchange may be more relevant to the recipient than the direct payer’s refund.
For a product bought through John Lewis, check its purchase-channel and refund instructions against the actual receipt.
Matching the right policy and keeping proof
Keep the confirmation, any return label and store handover evidence. Some Hobbs pages describe domestic and international options together; choose the UK-specific process that matches the original order, and ask Hobbs customer care if two pages appear to show different charges.
