Jet2 Flight Cancellation UK: Non-Refundable Fares and Airline Changes
Cancelling your own scheduled flight
Jet2.com states that its scheduled flights are non-refundable when a passenger chooses to cancel. Its published process is to sign in to Manage My Booking, select Cancel flights and then follow the confirmation link sent by email to complete the request. Keep the resulting cancellation receipt. Clicking the first button alone should not be treated as proof that the booking was cancelled, and cancelling a flight-only booking does not automatically change an independently booked hotel or partner transfer.
Could an amendment work instead?
Jet2 says it may be possible to change the flight date or passenger names in Manage My Booking on payment of applicable fees and any increase in fare. If the new fare is lower, the airline says it does not refund the difference. Check the amount shown before confirming a change; buying a replacement flight before reviewing the amendment route may leave the original non-refundable booking unused. Partner add-ons such as car hire or transfers need their own change enquiries.
An airline-initiated flight cancellation and a passenger deciding not to fly are different situations on a Jet2.com booking. Check whether you purchased a flight-only ticket, a separate partner add-on or a Jet2holidays package before following any cancellation instructions.
If Jet2 cancels the service
The company says that if it cancels a flight and cannot offer a suitable alternative, it refunds the payment to the original booking card. That situation should not be evaluated using its voluntary passenger-cancellation rule. Preserve messages from the airline and check the itinerary shown in Manage My Booking before making a replacement purchase. Flights purchased through a travel intermediary may need their own customer-service route.
An example with two purchases
A passenger can no longer take a booked flight but their travel companion can. Review the passenger-specific cancellation and name-change options rather than assuming the entire booking must be cancelled. If Jet2 later cancels a flight, the help route and refund treatment are different again.
