schuh Returns UK: 365 Days, Store Returns and Postage
Quick answer: schuh advertises a 365-day return or exchange period for unused footwear with proof of purchase. A UK shop return is free, but the retailer’s help page currently states a charge for returns by post. Partner-shipped goods, ex-display shoes and some product types use different return arrangements.
A full year is not a year of wearing the shoes
The 365-day window covers unsuitable footwear returned unused. The retailer asks for the original box where possible; the condition of soles is relevant if you only tried the pair indoors. Keep your receipt or email confirmation. If the shoes have developed a fault after use, refer to the separate inspection instructions, not to a change-of-mind return that assumes the goods were never worn.
Shop counter or parcel network?
At a schuh store, bring the pair and proof of purchase; for a purchase paid by card, bringing the original payment method helps with processing. Its returns hub lists several postal options, including InPost, Evri and other carriers, and says postal returns now cost £3.99. That fee should not be confused with its free in-store option.
Partner-shipped purchases cannot be returned to schuh stores, and ex-display items also have a separate route. Check the original order and the retailer’s instructions before assuming the nearest branch can accept any product bearing the schuh name.
Your size is sold out: exchange or refund?
Imagine the trainers fit in length but not across the toe box, and the replacement size is unavailable locally. schuh’s ordinary policy allows an exchange or refund for eligible unused shoes within the stated window, but the stock decision is a separate question. Check available sizes and the return method before sending the only pair you currently have; a refund does not reserve replacement stock.
After a parcel has been handed over
Keep your drop-off receipt and the tracking reference. schuh asks customers to allow around two weeks for a postal return before contacting it about processing; it sends a confirmation when the return is handled. Use its help and Live Help page with the order number if tracking suggests a problem. The return-by-post charge is not a forecast of how long your bank will take to display an approved refund.
Socks, sunglasses and extras are not ordinary shoes
The retailer notes hygiene limits for socks removed from their packaging and detailed packaging expectations for sunglasses. It also says its optional IMBOX treatment is non-refundable. When an order contains shoes and an additional service, do not assume returning the shoes reverses every charge on the receipt. Read the product-specific wording before choosing a return route.
