Ted Baker’s UK online return process gives customers 28 days from delivery to send eligible items back for a refund. The retailer currently deducts £3 from the refund when its return service is used, and it does not provide a normal online exchange facility.
Start with the delivery date
The 28-day period runs from delivery, so keep the delivery confirmation if the parcel arrived later than expected. If you know you cannot complete the return within that period, Ted Baker asks customers to make contact within the return window rather than simply posting the parcel late.
Prepare the item for the returns portal
Online returns are generated through Ted Baker’s returns portal. Include the delivery note with the parcel. Clothing should be unworn and unwashed, with labels and tags intact. Products with a seal tag need the seal to remain in place, and swimwear must retain its hygiene strip.
There are also product exclusions. The published guidance lists underwear, earrings, opened fragrance, personal grooming products and personalised or tailored items among goods that cannot be returned through the ordinary change-of-mind process. Cosmetics, including make-up brushes, need to remain sealed and show no signs of use.
Wrong size? Return and buy again
If a jacket fits but the trousers do not, do not wait for an online size swap. Ted Baker says it does not currently accept exchanges online. Return the unwanted item and place a separate order for the replacement. This matters when stock is low because the original return does not reserve another size.
Refunds are not instant
The policy says refunds go back to the original payment method and are made within the stated period after the return is received. Some payment providers can take longer to display the credit. Original shipping charges are described as non-refundable under the retailer’s commercial return policy, subject to any separate statutory rights that may apply in a particular cancellation situation.
Example
If you receive a coat on the first of the month, try it on indoors and decide it is too large, keep all tags attached, create the return through the portal and post it inside the 28-day period. The £3 return charge will be taken from the refund. If the coat arrived faulty, contact the retailer about the fault rather than treating it as an ordinary fit return.
