Molton Brown UK Returns: Online Versus Shops and Gift Card Refunds

Molton Brown separates purchases made on its UK website from those bought in a standalone shop or through another retailer. Before opening a return request, check which business issued the original receipt; the product name alone does not establish where it can be handed back.

Direct orders, gifts and unopened fragrance

The company’s published online and store return information sets out separate routes for those channels. Its delivery and returns guidance says that where a refund is due it is normally processed to the original credit, debit or Molton Brown gift card, with special treatment where a gift card was combined with another payment method. It also directs customers who bought from a third-party retailer back to that selling business.

Obtaining the correct return instructions

For a direct website purchase, open the official Molton Brown returns guidance and follow the linked return process or portal. For a shop purchase, check the store policy and take the relevant receipt to an eligible location. Keep any fragrance packaging intact and follow the company’s instructions on how a fragranced parcel should travel. Do not post goods to a return address supplied for a different country or retailer.

If a gift card covered part of the purchase

Suppose you used a £20 Molton Brown gift card and paid the balance by bank card. Its policy says the gift-card portion can be credited first when a refund is due; expecting the entire total to appear on the bank statement could make a correctly processed return look incomplete. Retain the original receipt showing both payment methods.

Checking a split-payment refund

For a delayed refund, check which payment channel was credited and whether the return has been marked received. Use Molton Brown customer service with the order and return reference rather than asking a department store to refund a direct Molton Brown order. A fragrance bought from The Perfume Shop follows that retailer’s receipt and return instructions, even when the fragrance itself was made by Molton Brown.
