Lidl Returns UK: Food Refunds, 30-Day Non-Food Returns and Specialbuys

Lidl's refund policy treats groceries and non-food Specialbuys differently. A food-quality complaint can be taken back with the product or receipt, while an unwanted non-food special has a defined 30-day period and must remain suitable for resale.

The return window in practice

Lidl says customers who are dissatisfied with a food or grocery item can return it with the original packaging or receipt. A simple change of mind on eligible non-perishable food can be dealt with under the conditions set out in the store policy.

These points come from Lidl GB’s Lidl GB official UK guidance. Non-faulty non-food Specialbuys can be returned within 30 days with the original receipt, packaging and resaleable condition.

Evidence worth keeping

A realistic example

You buy a kitchen gadget from the Middle of Lidl and decide it is not needed. If it is still resaleable and you have the receipt, the 30-day non-food policy is the relevant route. A disappointing food item should instead be handled under Lidl's grocery part of the policy.

Store, post or collection?

Multi-buy refunds can be adjusted to reflect the proportionate discount shown on the original receipt. Mystery Box products have separate online terms and are not standard in-store Specialbuy returns.

If you still need help

Take the product and proof of purchase to a Lidl store under the relevant section of the official refund policy. For a product outside the normal store route, use Customer Services.

Multi-buy refunds can be adjusted to reflect the proportionate discount shown on the original receipt. Keep the receipt for a Specialbuy because the policy specifically asks for it.
