iD Mobile Returns: 30 Days, 14-Day Send-Back and Upfront Refunds

iD Mobile’s return process depends on where the phone or SIM was bought. A purchase made directly through idmobile.co.uk or by phone follows iD’s own return route, while orders from Currys, Carphone Warehouse or Mobiles.co.uk can have a different seller process. For direct iD purchases, the current help page gives a 30-day period from receipt of the order.

Notify iD before posting a phone

For a phone and SIM plan, SIM-free phone or accessory, contact iD Mobile and ask to return the order. The company provides a Return Transaction Number and the correct shipping address. It specifically tells customers not to send the phone until that reference and address have been confirmed.

After notifying iD, you normally have 14 calendar days to get the returned items back. Include proof of purchase, the product in its original condition and packaging, the supplied accessories and any free gifts that formed part of the order. A phone can have been opened, but iD says it should remain in new condition with no physical damage.

Service usage can still appear on the account

Returning the hardware does not erase charges already incurred before disconnection. iD says line rental, usage and extras can be charged up to the point the service is disconnected. Any upfront handset payment is refunded once the return is completed; its FAQ says this happens automatically within 14 days after the return is closed.

SIM-only and PAYG returns are different

A cancelled SIM-only order does not need the physical SIM to be posted back; iD says to dispose of the SIM safely or delete the eSIM after the agreement is cancelled. For a pay-as-you-go SIM, there is no minimum term, but remaining account credit is not refunded under the stated return guidance.

A handset fault in the first 30 days uses a separate support route and may qualify for a free exchange. Check iD Mobile’s official returns and cancellations page before sending a device, especially if it was bought through a retailer rather than iD directly.
