Homesense UK Returns: 28 Days, Gift Receipts and TK Maxx

A relative gives you a Homesense vase with only a gift receipt. The shop may offer an exchange or gift card under its standard policy; it is not obliged by that voluntary policy to refund the price to a bank card you did not use.

Take Homesense merchandise back to Homesense

Homesense’s UK standard policy asks customers to return qualifying products to a Homesense shop within 28 days with a receipt. Even though Homesense and TK Maxx are connected brands, Homesense states its merchandise cannot be returned to a TK Maxx store. Find a Homesense location rather than heading for the nearest branch of its sister chain.

The type of receipt changes what the shop can give you

The item must be unused and in its original condition, including relevant packaging and labels. When the original payment was by credit or debit card, a refund goes to the card used to pay; a gift-card purchase is refunded onto another gift card. A gift receipt supports an exchange or a gift-card outcome, not a refund of the original buyer’s money to you.

Large or delicate homewares still need protection

Keep any outer packaging that protects ceramics, mirrors or lamps while deciding whether to keep them. Pierced jewellery and gift cards are excluded from the ordinary policy. If the product arrived broken or develops a fault, explain that clearly to the shop and retain the purchase record rather than describing it as a simple unwanted gift.

The Homesense UK policy and store FAQ confirm the receipt and TK Maxx distinction.

A homeware item purchased from IKEA is covered by IKEA’s separate order and returns procedure, regardless of how similar the product type may be.
