At Fenwick, returning an online purchase and bringing back a full-price item from a store are not the same operation. In particular, the store policy changes the refund method after its initial period.
First, establish where the item was bought
Fenwick’s current official returns policy allows qualifying online orders to be returned free within 14 days of delivery. For an eligible shop purchase, the first 14 days allow a refund to the original payment method; full-price purchases brought back from day 15 to day 28 are described as eligible for a Fenwick gift card or exchange rather than the same cash refund. Exceptions apply to hygiene goods, bespoke products and certain departments. The official Fenwick UK policy and help page contains the current wording for this purchase route.
Find the original receipt and use the online portal for an online order or take a qualifying shop purchase to the appropriate counter. Keep all tags and original packaging, and check whether an item purchased through a particular concession has separate handling instructions.
Consider this situation
If an unwanted full-price scarf was bought in store and returned three weeks later, expect to check the gift-card or exchange provision rather than presume an ordinary card refund remains available under the voluntary policy.
If your department-store purchase was instead made at John Lewis, our John Lewis returns guide explains its own online and shop procedures.
If it is faulty or the process stalls
For furniture, lighting or a damaged item, read the specialised instructions before arranging transport. Fenwick’s page also distinguishes certain branded concessions and their return portals.
